Friday morning Sulphur Springs head basketball coach Brandon Shaver joined the staff at Chad’s media for an in-studio interview, looking ahead at the upcoming season. Shaver is taking over a Wildcats team that has made the playoffs in each of the last five seasons.

Shaver and his team will be looking to replicate that same success, saying that they felt like they were a contender to win the district championship this year. With a number of returning players, including the likes of Justin Haire, Caleb Alexander and Kordrick Turner, Sulphur Springs fans will have plenty to be excited about this season.

Their home opener is set for Tuesday, Nov. 16 against Paris. They return home for three consecutive games after that starting Saturday, Nov. 27 when they host Henderson. They will also face Rockwall Tuesday, Nov. 30 and they will host a familiar foe in Royse City Tuesday, Dec. 7.

Next week we are set to sit down with the head coach of the Lady Cats basketball team, coach Erica Delley to look ahead at their season.
