Each year the Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce gives one non-profit organization the opportunity to sell the drinks at the Stew Contest to raise funds for their organization.

This year Community Players will be manning the drink stations and raising funds for their organization. Come out and show your support!

Beginning in late August, Community Players’ Main Street Theater has been undergoing $250,000 worth of repairs provided by the City of Sulphur Springs and local business XLNT. The repairs will take on structural issues which have left the theater on the verge of literal collapse.

As of September 15, steelwork had begun, and at the end of September passers-by can see that the entire facade has been stripped away.

The group still has much to go on their fundraising goals, and according to their GoFundMe account have raised $845 of their $150,000 needed for the theater’s interior and programming.

“This is indeed not just a theater building, but a whole world, and one that is worth saving,” Community Players said on their social media.

Stop by a local bank location or the Chamber office to get your tickets or purchase them online here: https://sulphursprings-tx.chambermaster.com/eventregistration/register/2619
