Funeral service for Tommie Ellen Reed, age 78, of Greenville, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Josh Blakley officiating. Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery with Byron Mallory, Tommy Robinson, Dean Collins, Keith Johnson, Robert Trammell, and Mark Goldsmith serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Briarcliff Health Center and Caring Hearts Hospice. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., prior to service time.

Tommie passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021, at Briarcliff in Greenville. She was born on October 1, 1942, in Sulphur Springs, TX, the daughter of Jimmie Lee and Juanita Brown Goldsmith. She was a member of the Baptist faith and worked as a beautician for many years. She married William “Junior” Reed on February 17, 1962. He preceded her in death on August 19, 2014.

She is survived by brother, Jimmy David Goldsmith and wife Linda of Reilly Springs, sisters, Avo Chester and husband Alan of Saltillo, Nealie Charlotte Goldsmith of Springfield, MO, nieces, Amanda Trammell and husband Robert of Ft. Worth, Allyssa Brown of Mt. Vernon, nephew, Corey Brown of Saltillo, and numerous extended family and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William “Junior” Reed, brothers, Billy Joe Goldsmith, Lee Forest Goldsmith, sisters, Mary Ruth Williams, Robbie Nell Dixon, and niece, Amy Chester Brown.

Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
