Funeral service for Gary Anderson, age 72, of Como will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Como United Methodist Church with Beverly Olsen and Jamie Funderburk officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Academy Cemetery with Conner Arthur, Casey Mims, Preston Braden, Alex Braden, Anderson Grimes, Aiken Grimes, Adam Russell, Gus Grimes serving as pallbearers and David Moore, Joe Bob Burgin, Mike O’Dell, Keith Bland, Buck Booker, and Freddy Rowell serving as honorary pallbearers. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 6, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Murray Orwosky Funeral Home. Gary passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs.

Gary was born on December 18, 1948 in Paris, TX to Charles Robert Anderson and Georgia Cherry Anderson. He married Margaret McGregor on December 6, 1981 at Como United Methodist Church. Gary would retire from Flowserve after working for more than 45 plus years which allowed him to travel to various parts of the world which he truly enjoyed. He served his community as the mayor of Como and loved riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Anderson of Como; children, Steven Braden and wife Kim of Dallas, Leslie Blanchard and husband David Koenig of Greenville, Jeremy Anderson and wife Tammy of Cooper, Angela Grimes of Como; grandchildren, Alex Braden, Taylor LaFargue, Preston Braden and wife Sophie, Chessa Corado and husband Alaide, Alyssa Braden, Tate Arthur and husband Conner, Taylor Mims and husband Casey, Harley Blanchard and Devin Pickett, Anderson Grimes, Aiken Grimes, Gus Grimes, Linse Koenig, Laci Koenig; great-grandchildren, Faye Braden, Analissa Braden, Henley Rae Arthur; sister, Gloria Buchanon and husband Ronnie of Cooper.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Robert Anderson and Georgia Anderson; son, Lee Anthony Braden; grandchildren, Taleigh Anderson, Andrew Blanchard and Cheyanne Blanchard.
