Obituary for LG Hankins
Funeral service for L.G Hankins, age 82 of Sulphur Springs, TX will be held at 10:00A.M. on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with James Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Mahoney Cemetery with Tony Dehart, Bryan Dorner, Earl Robinson, Jim Hanselka, Joe Bob Self, Travis Patridge and Robert serving as pallbearers. There will be no formal visitation. Mr. Hankins passed away on August 30, 2021 at Christus Mother Frances – Sulphur Springs.
L.G was born on April 22, 1939 in Mahoney, TX to Garland and Lena Faye (Smith) Hankins. HE married Edith Huff on May 28, 1989 in Birthright, TX. L.G was a veteran for the United States Army. He worked as a concrete worker. L.G. was a man of the Methodist Faith.
He is survived by his wife, Edith; sons, Brian and Mike Gibson; daughters, Rachel Gottfried and Sherry Hankins Sims and husband, Harry; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great children and great-great grandchildren.
L.G was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Belinda Hankins Sanford; son, David Hankins and brother, Wesley Hankins.
