The Miller Grove volunteer fire department is sponsoring a pig trapping contest to raise money.

The contest will take place between September 12 and September 18. Entry fee is $100 per team, with a 50% pot payout to the biggest catch. There is also a $50 side pot for biggest pig.

To sign up, visit 7207 Farm Road 275 (the Miller Grove VFD station) between noon and 5 p.m. on September 12. Live hogs must be weighed in on Sept. 18 at 6816 FM 514 in Point starting at 1 p.m.

No pooling is allowed, no hog dogs are allowed, and all live, weighable pigs over 15 pounds are accepted.
