Storm chances near Hopkins increase over weekend

Some nearby areas may see scattered thunderstorms, but it’s unlikely the Hopkins County area will, according to the National Weather Service. 

Saturday is sunny, with a high near 89 and a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. East by southeast winds are predicted from 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Saturday night holds a 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7p.m. and is partly cloudy, with a low around 74.

Sunday has a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 11 a.m. with otherwise mostly sunny skies and a high near 90. Sunday night has partly cloudy skies and  a low around 74. 

Monday has 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. with sunny skies and  a high near 93. North by northeast winds are predicted from 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Monday night is mostly clear, with a low around 73.
