Obituary for Jakie Petty
Jakie Petty Jr, age 74, of Petal, MS passed away Thursday, August 19 at Forest General Hospital from Covid complications. Graveside services will be Sunday, Aug 22, 2021.
He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Kat Petty, who passed away only months before him at the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Petal, MS.
Jakie was raised up a Baptist from Divide Baptist to his Mississippi life, a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Jakie was born August 25,1946 to Jakie Sr and Doris Imogene Clark Petty in Sulphur Springs Texas. He attended Travis Elementary and a1964 class member of Sulphur Springs High School.
His Sulphur Springs surviors include his mother, Imogene Graves and one sister, Rhonda Petty Tate. Nephew, Josh Morris, one half brother , Michael Petty. Step brother and sister Keith Maddox and Vickie Newsome, many cousins and so many friends, whom he loved and was always talking and praying with via Facebook.
Preceding him in death was his Dad, Jakie Sr., grandparents Joe and Pearl Petty and Earl and Velma Clark of Brashear, half brothers , Phillip Graves and Johnny Petty and half sister, Gay Lynn Graves. He’s survived by one son, Michael Petty and one grandson, Ivan Petty, of Arkansas.
