Heat advisory issued for Sunday

Hopkins County is under a heat advisory until Sunday at 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. 

Sunday is sunny, with a high near 96. Heat index values may be as high as 103. Sunday night is clear, with a low around 76. 

Monday is sunny, with a high near 97. Heat index values may be as high as 102. Monday night is clear, with a low around 76.

Tuesday is sunny, with a high near 98. Tuesday night is cClear, with a low around 78. 

Hot temperatures and high humidity will increase the risk for heat-related illnesses to occur, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 911 if you believe you are suffering from heat stroke.
