Thunderstorm chances will remain in the Hopkins County forecast through Friday, according to the National Weather Service. Hot and humid conditions will resume this weekend into early next week with heat index values likely to approach or exceed 105 degrees across parts of East Texas.

Thursday holds a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11 a.m. Skies are cloudy, with a high near 88. South winds are predicted at 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Thursday night has a 10% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 77. 

Friday has mostly sunny skies, with a high near 91. Heat index values may reach as high as 98. South by southwest winds are predicted at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Friday night is mostly clear, with a low around 77.

Saturday is sunny, with a high near 92. South by southwest winds are predicted at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Saturday night is mostly clear, with a low around 77.
