SSISD’s convocation took place on the morning of Aug. 9 to welcome teachers and staff back to school.

“Staff members were welcomed by the school board President Robert Cody, and Superintendent Mike Lamb detailed the district’s Strategic Plan and encouraged staff for the coming school year,” the district said.

SSISD Education Foundation Gena Prickette addressed the crowd as well. Students performed a musical number, original poem and the invocation to help welcome teachers back for the 2021-2022 term.

“It was a great morning for the SSISD family,” said assistant superintendent Josh Williams. “It’s great to be back together to see one another’s smiling faces and to get fired up for a great 21-22 school year.  We’re excited about our new district strategic plan and we can’t wait for our kids to arrive on the 18th.
