After announcing that this year’s Destination Imagination (DI) Global Finals 2021 teams had the unique opportunity to be featured in a premier music video to be launched at the event’s finale, the global organization reached out to DI team members in Sulphur Springs, Texas and Chad’s Media to assist with the project. DI team members from Sulphur Springs Middle School and students from Rowena Johnson Elementary School, along with scenes from around Hopkins County, can be seen in the video. Students from Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County have participated global tournament for the past 20 years.

Following last week’s premier, Rachel Hale’s new single video, “Promised Land”, was released by the artist. Hale said the song is an anthem of hope written to help people move into their destinies, so what better way to celebrate the end of the DI season and all of the teams involved. She was a Destination Imagination participant from 6th-8th grade and competed twice at Global Finals.

Destination Imagination alumni, Rachel Hale is a singer and songwriter from Prescott, Arkansas and was a featured contestant on Season 12 of “American Idol” as a Top 20 finalist competing in the “live” shows. Billboard ranked her performance of Grace Potter’s “Nothing But Water” as one of the top moments of the season. She joined multiple Grammy Award winner Cece Winans at Nashville Life Church in 2012 where she led worship, as well as writing and performing on the Church’s debut album, “Shine On Us.” She co-wrote the hit song “Firm Foundation,” which became the title track for the album recorded by gospel trio Selah that went on to win Inspirational Album Of The Year at the 51st Dove Awards. Hale has shared the stage with music legends Peter Frampton and Ricky Skaggs, and opened for stars including Tracy Byrd, Joe Nichols, Joe Diffie and Chris Cagle.

“Destination Imagination taught me how to find creative solutions to obstacles that I face,” said Rachel Hale. “It provided the space I needed to take risks, make mistakes, and grow. While competing, I learned how to value others on my team. Thanks to Destination Imagination, I am a more well-rounded individual, and I am forever grateful for this organization!”
