Funeral services for Georgia Laverne Camper, age 91, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 17, 2021, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Fred Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery with Terry Moreland, Ronny Moreland, Kevin Mooreland, Gary Don Lindsey, and Jon Lindsey serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Moreland, W.G. White, and Roy McGahee. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., prior to service time. Georgia passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at her residence. She was born on June 16, 1930, in Hopkins County, the daughter of Howard Travis and Bessie Wayne Hine Springer. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. She married Gerald Camper on August 27, 1949, in Hopkins County. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2011. Georgia is survived by son, Gere Camper of Sulphur Springs, daughter, Vicki Hilley and husband Harold of Burleson, sister, Peggy Moreland and husband Ray, grandchildren, Gary Don Lindsey, Jon Lindsey, great-grandchildren, Lyric, Finley, Cohen, and Cameron Lindsey, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Howard Paul Springer, Billy Wayne Springer, H.T. “Hank” Springer, and sisters, Rita Fern Anderson, and Dorothy Earlene McGahee. Memorials may be made to the Radio Bible Class of First Baptist Church, 116 Oak Avenue, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.
