She was born on June 28, 1926 to Dave and Mirlie Reeves in Sulphur Springs, TX. Mrs. Mark was a 1943 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School. She went on to continue her education at Texas A&M Commerce. She was active in the Lady Lions softball team as well as volleyball. She moved to Dallas, Texas to take a job working for the US Government. She married the love of her life, Buford Ray Mark on September 20, 1946 in Sulphur Springs. They made their home in Winnsboro, Texas where Mrs. Mark raised one daughter, Dianne Mark Gillispie and worked as a bank teller and substitute teacher and coach for Winnsboro ISD. She loved her flowers and was known for having the most beautiful yard in the neighborhood. In the early 1970s they bought a home and moved back to Sulphur Springs where Mrs. Mark spent 35 plus years working as a bookkeeper and receptionist for AK Gillis and Sons until her retirement. She returned to work a few years later working for NETADA from 1995 to 2005.

Anyone that knew her, knew she was a perfectionist, with a very strong opinion and tough from the inside

out. Nothing meant more to her than the value of family and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them. She loved to sew in her younger years and until the very end she was an avid sports fan. She never missed a Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys or Dallas Mavericks game. She loved her game shows.

Mrs. Mark is survived by her Son-in-Law Jerry Gillispie of Sulphur Springs; granddaughter, Michelle Skaggs and husband, Jeremey of Sulphur Springs; great granddaughter, Megan Glover and husband, Willie Sanchez of Sulphur Springs; great granddaughters, Mikala Rogers and Hannah Skaggs of Sulphur Springs; great-great grandson, Stetsyn Sanchez of Sulphur Springs; Macelyn Sanchez of Sulphur Springs; step great-great granddaughter Alexis and Jordan Sanchez; numerous nieces and nephews and a special “adopted” granddaughter Kelly Hoffman.

Mrs. Mark was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband and beautiful daughter. Also preceding her in death are brothers, Curtis and Travis Reeves; sisters, Pauline Riley and Opal Wallace. She was also preceded in death by very special nephew Don Riley.
