Funeral service for Ernest “Willy” Sells, age 76, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel with Justin Darrow officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 1, 2021. Interment will follow at the Seymore Cemetery. Mr. Sells died on April 27, 2021 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, TX.
He was born the son of Clyde David Sells, Sr. and Minnie Mae Wyatt Sells in Velasco, TX on August 14, 1944. He married Donna Zimmerman in Dallas, TX on November 25, 1965. Willy worked as a carpenter, was a dairyman and farmer, but the job he loved the most was working at the fruit and vegetable stand. Mr. Sells was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: wife: Donna Sells; sons: Bryan Sells and wife, Tina and Brandon Sells and wife, Brandi; daughter: Brigit Darrow and husband, Justin; grandchildren: Kai Sells, Darynn Thorn and husband, Chris, Breanna Sells, Hanna Sells, Dustin Crabtree, Dalton Darrow, Jackson Darrow, Raylee Garrett and Rease Garrett.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Clyde and Minnie Sells; sister: Laverne Jenkins; brothers: Troy Sells, Ben Sells, L.J. Sells, Edward Sells and Clyde Sells.
