Graveside service for Betty McGowan, age 86, a longtime resident of Mesquite, TX will be held at 2:00P.M. on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Miller Grove Cemetery with Father David Houk officiating and Rev. Victor Hunter assisting. Mrs. McGowan passed away on March 19, 2021.

Betty was born on September 2, 1934 in Dallas, TX to Victor and Irene (Stafford) Hunter. She married her husband, Jerry McGowan, a former resident of Sulphur Springs, on August 1, 1958 in Dallas, TX.

Betty was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and Texas State College for Women. She worked as an Arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau. Betty enjoyed international travel with her husband, volunteering with Girl Scouts, Doctor’s Hospital and White Rock Center of Hope. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Dallas.

She is survived by her husband; daughters Cynthia Keithly and Sharon McGowan, son-in-law Hugh Keithly; granddaughter Grace Keithly; brother Rev. Victor E. Hunter.

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
