Funeral service for Virginia Boyd, age 96, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 1:00 P.M on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Mike McNair officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. There will be a come and go visitation from 8:00A.M to 1:00P.M. on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Boyd passed away on February 19, 2021 at her residence.

Virginia was born on July 18, 1924 in Clarksburg, WV to Richard A. Hornor and Lavoo Maulsby Hornor. She married Richard Persinger in December of 1945 in Tyler, TX; he preceded her in death. Virginia later married Merrell Boyd in 1982 in Paris, TX, he also preceded her in death. She graduated from West Virginia Business College. Her first job after graduation was working at The Pentagon in Washington D.C. Her last job was at Medical Surgical Clinic as Insurance Specialist. Virginia was a member of the Shannon Oaks Church.

She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and most of all “MaMa.” She loved to travel and was an avid Bridge player.

She is survived by her cat, Precious; daughter, Mickie Powers and husband, Bob; son, Richard Persinger II and wife, Shay; son-in-law Verg Ables; grandchildren, Mike Eddins and wife, Veronica; Brent Eddins and wife, Edie; Brian Persinger and wife, Wendy; Amy Poteet and husband, Brett; Sarah Marzellas and husband, Daniel; great grandchildren, Lia Perez and partner, Dylon Lowe; Vicky Perez and partner, Andrew; Abby Eddins; Katie and Ellie Poteet; Braydon and Jayce Persinger; Blake Marzellas; great-great-grandchildren, Ariel Lowe, Sebastian Lowe.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Richard Persinger and Merrill Boyd; daughter, LuAnn Lavoo Ables; sister, Richadetta Michell and husband, Sam.
