Hopkins County to Receive Only 300 Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine This Week

Hopkins County will receive only 300 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines as the state distributes 591,920 first doses throughout the state this week.

Brookeshires is being allocated 100 doses and CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic-Sulphur Springs will receive 200.
This makes 500 doses allocated to Hopkins County in the last five weeks.
State Rep. Slaton sent DSHS Commissioner Hellerstedt a letter earlier this month imploring him to make Hopkins County a rural hub. Slaton said in the letter, “I am writing to strongly urge the Texas Department of State Health Services to prioritize the people of rural east Texas and make additional COVID-19 vaccine allocations, as well as fast-track the designation of Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Hopkins County as a vaccine hub.”
