Hopkins County Reports Lowest Unemployment Rate in Area with 5.8% Unemployment in December 2020

Hopkins County continues to rebound well from the COVID-19 shutdowns. The county is reporting the lowest unemployment rate for December 2020 among surrounding counties.

Hopkins County’s 5.3% unemployment rate in December 2020 is an improvement from the 5.8% reported in November 2020. 

The unemployment rate in Hopkins County in December 2019 was 2.8%.

Morris County reported the highest unemployment rate in the region for December 2020 at 13.5% and Delta reported the second lowest with 5.4%.

Texas’ unemployment rate statewide sits at 7.1% and the Northeast Texas region is slightly below the state average at 6.9%.
