Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Man for Dumping 4,000 Pounds of Junk at Sulphur Springs Lake

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest related to the dumping of debris and trash near Sulphur Springs City Lake at the dead end of CR 4703. The debris weighed over 4,000 lbs.

After the initial cleanup and investigation an arrest has been made in Morris County. Assistant Fire Marshal Mike Matthews, tracked down the suspect and he is now in custody.
Justin Saffel has been charged with illegal dumping and intentionally or knowingly unauthorized discharge (adjacent to a waterway) which is felony water pollution.
