A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for Hopkins County along with surrounding counties from 6 pm on Wednesday night through Thursday at 6 pm.

 The watch covers areas east of I-35, where rain totals of 3-5 inches are possible with localized totals over 6 inches. Remember, if you come up to a flooded road, Turn Around Don’t Drown!

The Flash Flood Watch is in place for portions of north central Texas, northeast Texas, and south central Texas, including the following areas, in north central Texas, Fannin, Freestone, Hunt, Kaufman, Limestone, Navarro, and Rockwall. In northeast Texas, Anderson, Delta, Henderson, Hopkins, Lamar, Leon, Rains, and Van Zandt. In south central Texas, Robertson.

A Flood Watch is issued when conditions are favorable for a specific hazardous weather event to occur. A Flood Watch is issued when conditions are favorable for flooding. It does not mean flooding will occur, but it is possible.
