Epic Patient Care Electronic Boards

NOW OFFERING the newest technology in total knee replacement

The Mako Total Knee application is a treatment option designed to relieve the pain caused by joint degeneration due to osteoarthritis, and is another way to demonstrate our commitment to outstanding joint health for our our very own Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Chris Meltsakos, by calling 903.885.6688.

Improving Patient Care with new Epic Patient Care Electronic Boards

CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital has recently replaced the traditional dry-erase whiteboards in the patient rooms with state-of-the-art, fully automated; Electronic Health Record integrated digital whiteboards.  The digital whiteboard always shows the important care team contacts and schedule information, personalized goals to encourage patient engagement, and the data is in real-time, as it interfaces with the electronic charts, saving caregivers from manually updating the information.  These digital care boards provide patients and families with information that is specific to the patient care in a simple, accessible format.

CHRISTUS Hospital Upgrade Cleaning & Disinfecting Protocols

After initial success in the hospital’s operating rooms using “TK60 R-Water, a San Marcos, Texas-based company that claimed to offer a residue-free disinfectant with a one-minute contact time”, CHRISTUS leadership was curious to explore the impact using a one-minute contact time disinfectant would have on patient room turn times.  The Tyler hospital’s HHS and EVS teams worked with R-Water to conduct a controlled evaluation, comparing the previous cleaning and disinfecting to the new standard.  The results were clear and astounding.  These highly effective solutions replace most of the cleaning and disinfecting products used in healthcare, including disinfectants, wipes, sanitizers, window cleaners, all-purpose cleaners, floor cleaners, grout cleaners, and carpet cleaners.  In healthcare, every minute counts.  “Because TK60 has a one-minute contact time, we have confidence that our staff is allowing sufficient time for TK60 to do its job,” said Toni Polk, Infection Preventionist with CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances.

COVID-19

Experiencing Symptoms?

If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, shortness of breath, cough, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, chills, muscle pain or headache, or diarrhea, please call your provider for either a face-to-face appointment or a telemedicine consultation.  If your provider determines you need to have a COVID-19 test, they will send you to the appropriate outpatient location for testing.  If you are experiencing an emergency, please present to the Emergency Room.  At this time, we are preserving our Emergency Room COVID-19 tests for those who are experiencing an emergency.  Otherwise, we would ask that you follow the steps above.  If you do not have a healthcare provider, CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic welcomes new patients.  Please call 903.885.3181 to talk to one of our associates about setting up an appointment.

Don’t Delay Care:

We want to be perfectly clear – CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances remains a safe place for all to receive quality care. Go to the Emergency Department or call 9-1-1 if you are urgently ill. While COVID-19 is new, our processes and procedures in place for infection prevention and preventing the spread of illness are not.
