An approaching storm system and cold front will result in increasing rain chances this morning, with thunderstorms possible mostly during the afternoon with the passage of the front. Clouds will be plentiful through early afternoon, before decreasing from West to East during the mid-late afternoon hours. A few storms along the cold front may become strong to severe with gusty to damaging wind gusts, smaller hail, and even a brief tornado could occur across the East Texas counties. Highs will be mostly in the lower to mid 70s ahead of the cold front, while only in the 60s behind the front and in East Texas. Gusty southwest winds around 10 to 20 mph, will shift to the northwest behind the cold front with much cooler temperatures expected for outdoor activities this evening.
