James “Jim’’” Edward Bagwell of Sulphur Springs passed away Sept. 10, 2020. 
 
He was born July 11, 1928, to Eric Edward and Norma Deakins Bagwell in Sulphur Springs.
 
Jim was a 1950 graduate of Texas Tech University with a bachelor degree in Geology.  He worked in the oil business in West Texas as a geologist until retirement, when he moved back to his hometown.  Jim was an avid builder and flyer of radio-controlled model airplanes and left behind an impressive collection of the planes he enjoyed over the years.
 
Survivors include his wife, Celia Bagwell, of Sulphur Springs; step-sons, Bobby Littlefield and wife, Sylvia, of Waco; Steve Littlefield and wife, Monica, of Sulphur Springs; Terry Manning and wife, Carran, of Cayuga; and a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are many longtime friends, including Bill McLarry and Mary Jo Wood.  He also leaves behind his beloved cat, Sister. 
 
Jim donated his body to Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.  A memorial for Jim will be held at a later date.
