Graveside service for Billie Dean Chester, age 93, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, September 25, 2020 at Sulphur Bluff Cemetery with Kevin Chester officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 P.M prior to the service at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.   Billie Dean passed away at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs on September 22, 2020.

Billie Dean Chester was born near Winnsboro, Texas, on February 13, 1927 to Roy and Ethel McKinnon, and moved with her family to the Sulphur Bluff community in 1937, where she graduated from Sulphur Bluff High School in 1945. She and Loyd D. Chester were married in Sulphur Springs on December 14, 1946. They moved to the Dallas in the mid 1950’s and remained there until moving back to Hopkins County in 2002. She retired from Sears after many years of service.

Billie is survived her daughter and son-in –law, Karen and Robert Oliver of Red Oak, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Darla Chester of Waxahachie, Texas; sister Ruby McKinnon of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Kam Bridgers and husband Rodney, Greg Oliver, Bryan Chester and Jodi Helms and husband Kris; and great-grandchildren, Taylor Bridgers, Peyton Bridgers, Hunter Helms and Hayden Helms. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd D.Chester; parents; sisters Sara Lanell Miller and Bobbie May; and brothers, Duward “Dub” McKinnon, Frank “Wad” McKinnon and Larry Joe McKinnon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Sulphur Bluff Cemetery Association c/o Corlette Womack, 3490 FM 3389, Brashear, Texas 75420 or to the Sulphur Bluff Assembly of God Church.
