DPS troopers responded to the report of an accident on FM 1567 and found a black truck with major damage in the front yard of a residence.

It appeared the vehicle was travelling east when it left the roadway and went through a barb wire fence before hitting the tree.

The driver claimed to have had four beers but he failed field sobriety tests and registered at .146 on the breathalyzer.

He was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to Hopkins County Jail.

We did not identify the driver since a first offense for DWI is a misdemeanor. We only identify felony arrests.
