A staff member at Barbara Bush Primary School tested positive for COVID-19 this week, according to Sulphur Springs ISD.
SSISD began teacher in-service on August 6th. The first day for students returning to campus is September 1st.
According to SSISD’s response plan, the campus will take the following steps when they are notified of a positive test:
- All areas that are heavily used by the individual with the lab-confirmed case will be closed off until disinfected.
- All teachers, staff, and families of all students in that school will be notified.
- The local health department will be notified.
Other area schools in Paris and Wolfe City have also reported positive tests among staff members. Cumby ISD reported earlier this week that a student that had been on campus tested positive.
