Funeral service for Jerry Hooker, age 78, of Yantis, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Bro. Danny Caldwell and Bro. Paul Newby officiating. Interment will follow at Yantis Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Mr. Hooker passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at his residence in Christus Mother Frances Hospital – Tyler, TX.

Jerry Hooker was born on July 11, 1942 to Paul and Odessa Hooker. Jerry married Frances Traughber on May 14th, 1966 in Dallas, TX. He worked as an Aircraft Assembler for L3 and was a member of Reilly Springs Baptist. Jerry proudly served the U.S. Army in Korea and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Frances Hooker; children; Rita Bevill and husband, Kemmy and Jesse Hooker and wife, Amber; grandchildren, Maggie Hooker, Maddie Hooker, and Marshall Hooker; sister, Katie Oakley; and brother, Jackie Hooker

Jerry was preceded in death by his, parents; and brother, James Hooker.
