Senator Ted Cruz will be visiting Sulphur Springs on Saturday as Republican County Chairs and Precinct Chairs select the congressional candidate that will replace John Ratcliffe on November’s ballot. Congressman Ratcliffe vacated his Congressional seat to become Director of National Intelligence (DNI).
The replacement nominee will be elected by the CD-4 Congressional District Executive Committee at Hopkins County Civic Center on Saturday.
Cruz will be in town to endorse Pat Fallon to replace Ratcliffe on the the ballot. Fallon is State Representative, House District 106, Denton County.
Some of the almost 20 candidates vying for the seat include Ratcliffe’s former district chief of staff Jason Ross, Atlanta Mayor Travis Ransom, Rockwall city councilman Trace Johannesen, Rockwall Mayor Jim Pruitt, Rockwall attorney Casey Campbell, Navy veteran T.C. Manning of Sherman, and Bowie County resident Bob Worthen.
