Republican Bryan Slaton Finally Defeats Incumbent Dan Flynn in Third Attempt at Texas House District Two Nomination

Challenger Bryan Slaton unseated incumbent Dan Flynn for the Republican nomination in the Texas House District 2 run-off election yesterday.

Flynn had represented District 2 since 2003. This was the third time that Slaton had run against Flynn for the nomination.

Slaton ran an aggressive campaign fueled by consistent attack ads on Flynn. Slaton’s campaign was largely funded by donors associated with the controversial group Empower Texans.

Democrat Bill Brannon will challenge Slaton in November’s general election.
