The Alexander Braunvieh Ranch was well represented this year! Some of their highlights included Katie taking home Grand Champion Bred and Owned Heifer, Champion Senior Heifer Calf, and First Place in Class 2 of the Bonanza show and Braxton winning Grand Champion Junior Showman, Reserve Champion Steer, 2nd in his class in the Bonanza. Katie participated in five shows this weekend winning two banners and a belt buckle. Braxton showed in three shows, winning a banner and belt buckle. Braxton also took home First place in Illustrated Speech winning a free Jacket with the Texas Junior Braunvieh Logo on it and a certificate for $1,000 to be used towards the purchase of a Braunvieh heifer from any breeder within the Texas Braunvieh Association.

The Texas Junior Braunvieh State Show included competitions in Sales Talk, Cattleman’s Quiz, Skill-a-thon, Illustrated Speech, and photography. This year’s theme was “DNA in the Beef Industry.” The state show teaches kids many valuable lessons. There were over 40 Junior participants and 70 animals entered in the competition.

Katie’s Father, Collin Alexander, commented on the show weekend “We always enjoy showing with amazing Braunvieh Breeders! It was a great year! We are very proud of Katie, Braxton and Kouper for their hard work on the ranch in preparation for the show and their positive attitudes, whether they won or loss. We are excited to see our children grow with their animals and can’t wait to get back in the show ring!”
