Acts 2:38 – And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

To hear, know, and act is wisdom. Receiving a gift from God that empowers us to walk in righteousness through the Holy Spirit’s infilling is most excellent. However, there are still many who have not received the Holy Spirit’s gift because they have not heard about this good news. We see this in Acts 19.

Act 19:1-7 – And it happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the inland country and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples. 2 And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” 3 And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John’s baptism.” 4 And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.” 5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying. 7 There were about twelve men in all.

Then others have heard about the Holy Spirit. However, they have reservations due to what they were taught previously. Beware of religious prejudices that would blind you or bind you from receiving Jesus’ baptism in the Holy Spirit or a fresh infilling in the Holy Spirit. Receive all Jesus has to offer you.

You received Jesus without reservation. Receive the Holy Spirit without reservation. It’s much more than information; this is all about transformation. There are gifts of the Spirit, Fruits of the Spirit and power in the Spirit ready and waiting just for you. Ask, you will receive.

With love and prayers,
Pastor Sherry C.
