Norene Moore Obituary

On May 28, 2020, Mrs Norene Moore left this world for the golden streets of Heaven. She was born November 19, 1923, to John “Frank” and Viola Ellen Palmer, in Birthright, Texas. Norene was the youngest of five children, all of whom preceded her in death. She married Joseph William Moore on October 10, 1945. They had 63 wonderful years of marriage and two children, Linda Jo Moore Riddle, and William David Moore. Joe preceded her in death in 2009.
Open visitation will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Saturday, May 30 until 3pm. Private burial will follow at the City Cemetery with Michael Moore officiating. Pallbearers will be Joe Moore, Dale Henderson, Jeffrey Moore, Brent Shutt, and Marlin Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Dan Phillips, Randy Reed, Randy Hall, Tim Kelty, and Bob Deen.
Norene was a member of League Street Church of Christ. She loved her church family and she loved to serve in many ways, such as in the nursery, teaching and attending ladies’ Bible classes, and arranging food for the bereaved. Many will fondly remember her as the “bubble gum lady”, or as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren called her, simply “Meme”. Before marriage, Norene worked in retail in ladies’ wear. After her children were in school, she returned to retail, working in children’s clothing. Mrs Moore later worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Jack Ramey for over 20 years. Norene was an excellent seamstress, had a green thumb with every plant she grew, and loved to cook. She took great pride in keeping up her home, and opening her doors to anyone who came to visit. Visitors could count on a cup of coffee and her famous tea cakes.
Norene Moore is survived by her loving family: children Linda Jo Moore Riddle of Sulphur Springs, and William David Moore and wife Sheila of Yantis; grandchildren Linda Henderson and husband Dale of San Antonio, Joe Moore of Houston, Rebecca Riddle of Sulphur Springs, Michael Moore and wife Kim of Yantis, and Jeffrey Moore of Yantis. Great-grandchildren are Haley Thompson and husband Logan, Keely Moore, Katelyn Henderson, Kacey Moore, Ella Moore, Gareth Henderson, Gavin Henderson, Annika Bell, Anora Riddle, and Axton Riddle. Great-great-grandchildren are Dean and Ronan Thompson. She is also survived by numerous extended family and a great many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to League Street Church of Christ Youth Fund.
