Private graveside service for Joe James Mills, Jr. age 80, of Sulphur Springs will be held at Mills Ranch in Sulphur Springs, TX on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at 4pm. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Mills Ranch in Sulphur Spring, TX at 3pm to 4pm. Bring a chair and dress casual. Mills entered into the arms of his savior on April 27, 2020 at Paris, TX
Joe James Mills, Jr. was born on August 15, 1939 in Bellville, Texas to Joe James, Sr and Muriel Mitchell Mills. He married Mickey Jean Woodward of Dallas, TX in Mt. Pleasant, TX on December 27, 1959 They had 60 wonderful years together. Joe was an Army ASA Veteran, a Mason, and Shriner. He raised his family in Mt. Pleasant, TX before moving to the family ranch in Sulphur Springs, TX. Joe was a welder by trade he owned Mills Welding and built structures in Mt. Pleasant including the original Mt. Pleasant Rodeo Arena and some school playgrounds.
He is survived by his wife Mickey; daughter, Jodi Walker, son, Joe James Mills III and wife, Gale and daughter, Flicka Marshall and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Brooke Rozell and husband, Carl, Cole Walker and wife, Amanda, Colton Croley and wife, Rachel, Dillon Croley and wife, Courtney, Patrick Benson and wife, Kristie, Victoria Yates and husband, Trevor, Montana Mills and Dallas Mills; 7 great grandchildren
Joe James Mills, Jr. was preceded in death his parents and his sister Elizabeth.
