Bond Set at $1,500,000 for First Degree Murder Suspect

Bond has been set at $1,500,000 for First Degree Murder suspect Ronald David Bailey. Sulphur Springs Police Department arrested Bailey for allegedly murdering a 25 year old Sulphur Springs man on Saturday night.

SSPD responded to reports of a stabbing at an address on College Street at 7:11 PM Saturday night. Officers made contact with the victim, 25 year old Kendale Qualls, on scene.
According to SSPD Chief Jason Ricketson, there was a confrontation during which Bailey stabbed Qualls.
Qualls was transported to CHRISTUS Mother Frances-Sulphur Springs where he passed away from his injuries.
Bailey was later taken into custody and charged with First Degree Murder. He is currently held at Hopkins County Jail.
