There have been four vehicles stolen in the Sulphur Springs area in the last few days, according to Sulphur Springs Police Department.
Almost all of the vehicles were early 2000’s model trucks with unlocked doors. The thieves are damaging the ignitions or steering columns in order to crank the vehicles, according to SSPD Sergeant Detective Brian Shurtleff.
Two of the vehicles have been recovered after the thieves abandoned them locally.
SSPD encourages the community to make sure their vehicles are locked at night and to hide belongings that are left in your vehicle.
