SSPD Officer Crashes Into Telephone Pole During Pursuit of Suspect. Suspect Crashes Car Into Residence Shortly After.

A Sulphur Springs Police Officer crashed into a telephone pole during a pursuit last night. The suspect crashed his vehicle into a residence shortly after.

SSPD Officer Zach Brown attempted a traffic stop on a black Chrysler 300 at approximately 7:15 pm. The driver failed to yield and fled from the officer. The driver turned onto Elm Street from Bill Bradford Road during the pursuit. Officer Brown lost control of his car and struck a telephone pole near the intersection of Elm St. and Bill Bradford Rd. 

The suspect vehicle continued on and lost control of his vehicle shortly after and drove through multiple yards before crashing their vehicle into a residence on Lilly Circle. The suspect then exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Officer Brown sustained only minor injuries and there were no reported injuries at the residence on Lilly Cir.

SSPD is still investigating the incident and attempting to identify the driver.
