Saltillo Lady Lions Win Three Overtime Thriller to Advance to Regional Semi-Finals

Saltillo Girls Basketball advanced to the Regional Semi-Finals with a thrilling 51-43 three overtime win over Slidell on Tuesday night.

Saltillo outscored Slidell 11-3 in the third overtime to secure the victory. Jocelyn Ochoa led the Lady Lions with 19 points. Chandler Bain added 9 points,  Anna Reeder scored 8 points, Kristina Wade scored 6 points, Brittney Peeples scored 6 points, Maddy Smith scored 2 points, and Julianna Giles had 1 point.

Athletic Director Bill Giles said, “Very exciting game for the fans!!!  We gave up to many easy buckets in the OT’s.  But, we hung in there, played physical and do the little things right in the 3rd over time for the win.  Slidell played extremely hard and are well coached.”

Saltillo will face Eula on Friday at 5 pm at at Mansfield Legacy High School. The winner will play the winner of Lipan vs Dodd City on Saturday.
