Triston Abron Named Head Football Coach and Athletic Director at Mexia ISD

Mexia Independent School District approved the hire of former SSHS coach and player Triston Abron as their next head football coach and athletic director on Monday night.

Abron will be leaving Paul Pewitt where he led the Brahmas to a 14-2 record and the Class 3A, Division II State Finals in 2019. He was named Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Coach of the Year for 2019.
Mexia went 7-4 last season and advanced to the area round of the playoffs.
