Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears Basketball defeated Miller Grove Lady Hornets last night in the Bi-District round of playoffs by a score of 58-40. This was Sulphur Bluff’s first playoff appearance since 2012.

Coach Zandra Peyton said, “We ran some new plays last night and the girls really worked together to see the open cutter. They are playing like a team and move the ball around to get better scoring opportunities. They were 11 for 14 at the free throw line which is a great improvement from the beginning of the season.”

“Jada Wade had a big job on defense last night. I put her on Harli Watson who is a great shooter from the Hornets, to force the ball into someone else hands on her team. She never scored when Wade was on the the court. She only scored when Wade, was on the bench for a break. Jada had 4 points, 1 steal, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist. My post players Skylar Stanley and Dalena di Donato at did a great job of getting open and rebounding. Dalena had 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists. Skylar had 10 points, 12 rebounds, and 1 assist,” said Peyton.

Ann Dorner had 15 points, and made 6 of her 7 free throws, 2 steals, and 5 rebounds, and 1 assist.
Alley Collett had 8 points and 3 rebounds. She played great help defense.
Tori Raine had 6 points, 1 steal, and 2 rebounds.
