Suspect In Dallas Homicide Shoots Himself In Greenville As Police Attempt to Serve Warrant

GREENVILLE- On January 28, 2020, at 10:16 a.m., the Greenville Police Department received information about a homicide suspect from Dallas that was possibly hiding in the Greenville area. Members of the Greenville Police Department, Hunt County Sheriff’s Office, and the U.S Marshals Office responded to the Crossroads Apartments at 2900 Robin Road to attempt to serve an arrest warrant on Rashad Warren for murder.

A short time after officers arrived on-scene, the suspect barricaded himself inside an apartment. At approximately 12:30 p.m., officers heard what sounded like a muffled gun shot.

Around 1:15 p.m., entry was made into the apartment. Officers located the suspect inside the apartment with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A Justice of the Peace was contacted, and an autopsy was ordered.

The investigation is still on-going. There is no further information available at this time.
