John 4:35
Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.

What do you see when you look at the world around you? Do you see all of the issues and ‘isms’ that can seem so prevalent in society or do you see what Jesus sees? If you’re not careful and intentional about looking at things through His perspective, you can quickly become skeptical and judgmental toward the very people that the Lord wants to rescue. When most ‘Christians’ look at the world they are quick to notice and point out the dirt that they see in others all the while failing to realize that what they see as dirt, Jesus sees as a harvest. Everyone, even the most holy, upright person you can think of has dirt, things in their past that they’re not proud of. You cannot escape this world sin and short-coming free…it’s impossible. But, thankfully, Jesus chose not to focus on your sin. Instead, He chose to look at you as a harvest. He saw all of the dirt that was a part of your life and chose to use it a planting ground instead of a burial plot. He saw your potential and died to bring it to life. All He asks that you do in return is love Him by loving others. In other words, choose to look at people for who they are, not what they’re carrying. Just like when Jesus was walking the earth, the fields are still white for harvest. Only His love will bring them in. Only His people can reflect that love. Now, try it again. Lift up your eyes…what do you see? Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff.
