John A Sellers will be the speaker at Hopkins County Genealogical Society’s monthly meeting at 7 pm on Thursday, January 16th at 611 N Davis St. The topic of his presentation will be ‘Wood and Shingles Brick-and-Mortar: discovering the history of your home or building.’

John is a fifth generation native of Hopkins County, Texas. He has thirty three years of research experience and twenty eight years of lecture experience.  He is also the president of Hopkins County Genealogical Society, national speaker at both FGS and NGS, a regional speaker throughout Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas and Louisiana, author of historical newspaper column called Hopkins County Remembered, and specializes in courthouse research with emphasis on land records and probate.
