From Como-Pickton CISD:

Attention Parents: We are closely monitoring the weather today due to the increased risk for severe storms including high winds, and possible tornadic activity. It is predicted to manifest about the time school is out and students are being transported home. These decisions are always difficult as weather is hard to predict, but the safety of our students is our top priority. We will be dismissing school at 1:00 today. We will inform you of plans for extra-curricular activities later today. We want to be as proactive as possible. Thank you for your continued support of our schools.

Due to the forecasted bad weather tonight, and in addition to our early dismissal at 1:00, Cumby and Como-Pickton have agreed to move our Varsity Girls Basketball game to 11:00. There will be no other games played. We are hoping that provides both communities with safe traveling conditions without having to cancel the game. Thank you for your constant support of our school. The weather is difficult to predict, but we would rather be on the side of caution when it comes to the forecasted severe weather.
