Hopkins County Criminal Investigation Division became involved and began immediately tracking down and interviewing involved persons.  Ultimately, enough information and evidence was recovered throughout the investigation to seek arrest warrants on two persons involved in the sexual assault.

Based on the individual facts and circumstances of this case, warrants for aggravated sexual assault were sought for two suspects. Arrest warrants were issued for both suspects upon presentation of probable cause to the court.

Lt. Weatherford notified Hopkins County Patrol Deputies of the warrants once issued.  Arresting Deputies quickly located both 20 year old Koby Chase Mahl of Cumby and 18 year old Emily Rutherford of Miller Grove on warrants for Aggravated Sexual Assault and took them into custody without incident.

Mahl and Rutherford are currently held at Hopkins County Jail on $100,000 bond each.
