Luke 2:11-12
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”

There’s an expression that says, ‘Familiarity breeds contempt’. What this in essence means is that it’s easy to view people or things that are valuable as common. When this happens, you will fail to reap the benefits that come your relationship to whatever or whoever that may be. In today’s scripture God used something very common place as a sign… a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger. The miracle of mankind’s redemption was in something that everybody had already been to and walked away from. What’s a common thing in your life, that if you visited it again, God could show you the miracle that is lying right in front of you? Is it your spouse? Your children? Maybe even your bank account? What relationships and blessings have become so common and familiar to you that you’ve undervalued them to a place in which you can longer receive the benefits form them? There is a miracle in your spouse that you won’t experience until you elevate back to the place of honor that they belong. The same is true in your children. Your bank account should be viewed as a store of seed and potential rather than what you may consider a shallow pool of funds that is barely deep enough to get you by. The only value that you’ll receive from something is the value that you place on it. So look again at the blessings in your life. Which ones have become too common to you? What are you taking for granted that you could be drawing a miracle out of? Ask the Holy Spirit for a fresh perspective concerning the blessings that He’s place in your life. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
