Funeral services for Gene Clint Ridling, age 76, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 14, 2019 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Garry Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Jonathon Brooks, Zachary Brooks, Nicholas Brooks, Tommy Brooks, Bryce Ridling, Jason Leber, Branson Adair, and Jacob Neal serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., prior to service time. Gene passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 in Greenville, TX.
He was born on December 27, 1942 in Commerce, TX to William “Ralph” and Mary Ann Ridling. Gene attended school in Fairlie, TX and graduated high school in Commerce, TX. Gene married Sue Ridlingon September 24, 1964. Gene spent his career as a Senior Buyer for Nordstrom Valve (Rockwell) and as a skilled carpenter who could build anything by just looking at a picture, all he needed was a hammer, a tape measure, nails and maybe a little wood glue. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Odd Fellow Lodge in Sulphur Springs. He is survived by wife, Sue, children, Troy Ridling and Carolyn, Tammy Brooks and husband Tom, Brian Ridling and wife Amy, and Kimberly Pearson and husband Matt,grandchildren, Kaylyn, Kelsey, Jonathon, Zachary, Nicholas, Tommy, Bryce, Chanse, Emma, Ava, Cortney, Jacob, and great-grandson, Parker.Gene was preceded in death by his parents, William “Ralph” and Mary.
