Athletic coaches play an extremely influential and unique role in the lives of young men. Coaching Boys Into Men (CBIM), from Futures Without Violence, is the only evidence-based prevention program that trains and motivates high school coaches to teach their young male athletes healthy relationship skills.
In celebrating successful completion of the program, the Dallas Cowboys Mascot, Rowdy, came to Cumby ISD last week. Rowdy spent about an hour encouraging respect and promoting friendship among the students. The high school male athletes were honored at the end of the program for their participation in the program. The athletes have shown improved attendance, improved behavior, and an improved overall culture of community service.
