For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”
Shame is one of your enemy’s greatest tools. He is constantly trying to push you into a place of guilt and regret over your past mistakes and shortcomings. As he does he will try to convince you that God is the one putting this shame on you. The truth of the matter is that God is in the business of doing away with your shame not using it as a means of punishment. He hung your shame on the cross and sentenced it to hell when Jesus took your place. When God, through His Holy Spirit, convicts you of a shortcoming in your life, He does so in an effort to draw you closer to Himself. He knows that those things in your life that are not of Him keep you from experiencing deeper intimacy in your relationship. Many Christians confuse conviction with condemnation because of the lies that religious leaders and ignorant believers have taught them. Your condemnation was put on your Savior and done away with forever. It is time to stop letting shame and regret keep you from returning to a loving Father who wants nothing more than to pour His love and blessing out upon your life. Don’t let the enemy or someone who doesn’t know how to deal with their own shame and sin tell you that you’re anything less than wholly and eternally accepted by God. If you’ll embrace His conviction, He’ll keep you out of shame and condemnation. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
