Ephesians 4:13-14
13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood,[a] to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.

No matter who you are or where you come from, no one is exempt from the maturing process. While this may seem like a statement of the obvious, most people fail to consider this process while they’re going through it. Everyone will experience pain and discomfort of being grown and stretched but few people, if any, will take account of where they are in life and recognize where they’re at in this process. If they did, they would be more patient and make the effort to learn all they could as they went through it. In fact, being impatient is a sign of immaturity. Just like a young child refuses to consider why they may not be getting what they want and cry and throw a fit, many immature grown ups do the same thing with God. Their prayers are full of ‘how much longer’s’, ‘why me’s’, and ‘don’t you love me anymore’s’, just like you would hear from a three year old wanting candy. All the while, as they’re acting this way, they’re wondering why God doesn’t open a door for them. God values you too much to let even the good things He wants to give you overload you. His grace and anointing are there in immeasurable quantities but the extent of your maturity while determine the extent of which you receive them. If you’ve come to a place of wanting to quit and your patience is wearing thin, take some time and allow Him to speak into that frustration. Give Him a chance to reveal what areas you’re needing to grow in and humbly accept what He shows you. The maturing process doesn’t have to be brutal and difficult if you’ll give Him the opportunity to walk through it with you. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
